Why You Need to Love Your Niche

by Stefan on June 28, 2009

When you first thought about making money online I’m sure most of you thought both once and twice on writing about a niche where you could make the most money, meaning poker, betting, sex or hardware.

Hopefully most of you decided to skip all above and instead decided to write about a topic you love and can talk about for hours of hours.

I found my niche

I’ve been working with different niche sites for some time now and it’s difficult to find a niche where I have no experience. One thing most of them have in common is that I got bored within a couple of weeks and abandoned the site, which resulted in no income.

It took a long time for me to finally understand that my hobby is all about making money online and therefore I now run a blog about it. Not only because I love making money through the internet, but also because I love to teach and there was a time in my life when I wanted to be a teacher.

Find your niche

I’m sure there’s a bunch of people out there reading this and saying; “sure he couldn’t do it, but I can”. That’s great spirit and hopefully some of you will succeed, but I can promise most of you will fail in the beginning and fumble before you finally succeed.

To save you a big headache, begin with a niche you love!

I definitely agree with you on this. You must love your niche because if you don’t sooner or later, you won’t see yourself succeed in blogging. I do have 2 more blogs but besides my busy work schedule, I don’t have the motivation to update them because I simply don’t have the drive and energy.

My problem was finding my passion. Still not sure if I’ve got it. When things get busy with work and life, all my hobbies get pushed to the side and then they rotate back in again. Its not easy finding a niche.

This is without doubt the most important question in life. If you can solve it you’ll make fortune. The only advice I can give you right now, if you are interested to make money online, is to try different niches with small niches sites and then see where you want to keep developing new content.
